This is a list of the different types of software which you will need to have in order to use various aspects of your account at Vectro. You may use any program you wish for services such as FTP or E-Mail, but there are the ones we recommend.

NOTE: Vectro, Inc. is in no way affiliated with any of the companies or vendors who make and release these software titles. These are only programs we suggest if you are not sure what to use.


Software Related To Your Account


SmartFTP
Windows FTP Program for transferring your web pages and other files such as graphics to your space on the server.


Fetch (Free)
FTP Program for Mac users.


PuTTY (Free)
If SSH is enabled on your hosting plan you can use this SSH program which has a simple interface and the ability to save hostnames.


Mozilla Thunderbird (Free)
Fast and secure program for checking and sending your e-mail. Thunderbird has one of the most advanced junk-mail filtering systems.



Other Useful Software


SpywareBlaster (Free)
This program will scan for known spyware and remove it. It also has a nice immunization feature to keep your PC protected.


Ad-Aware (Free)
Scans your windows registry, hard drive, memory and removable storage media for spyware and adware programs and removes them.


StartupMonitor and StartupInspector (Free)
Startup Inspector allows you to see what programs are registered to run when you computer boots up. It can show you all programs registered to run at boot time, even the ones in the system registry which are hard to get to. StartupMonitor runs in the system tray of your computer at all times (using minimal memory) and prompts you whenever software you are installing registers itself to run at startup.


Atomic Clock Sync (Free)
This utility will synchronize your computer's clock with the time servers operated by the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) in the United States.
